Abstract: Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is one the 100 most important chemicals used extensively in bleaching, disinfection, synthetic chemistry industries.It is currently used asafuel indirectfuel cells.Thecurrent H2O2 production relieson the harshanthraquinone oxidationapproach.Photocatalytic H2O2 productionisa more favorablealternative from environmental, sustainability, economic viewpoints.The process requires water molecular oxygen as inputs sunlight as the sole power source.Despite these merits, thepractical application thistechnologyremains challenging.The most common bottlenecks are the photocatalyst's inadequacy, uphillthermodynamics, sluggish process kinetics, competitive backward reactions.This paper discusses these limitations highlights the proposed perspectives to improve the effciency selectivity, aiming to pave the way toward large-scale H2O2 photogeneration.
