Advances in Intervention Strategies for Advance Care Planning in Dementia Patients

【Abstract】Advance care planning aims to alow individuals to discusstheir goals and preferences for future medical andnursing carewithfamilymembersand medical personnel inadvance whentheystilhavedecision-making ability，sothat individualscanreceive medicalcare that meets their preferences when theylose theirdecision-making ability.Advancecare planingindementiapopulationin Chinaisstillin infancy，thisstudyaims toexplore theresearch progressofadvancecare planning indementiapopulation，and provide theoreticalreferences fortheimplementationofadvancecare planing in China. Relevant domestic and intermational databases were searched to provideanoverviewof theconceptof advancecare planing， interventionstrategies，andinterventionconsiderationsfordementiapatients.Thisreviewfoundthateistingstudiesdemonstated thebenefitsofadvancecareplaning in dementia patients；the interventionstrategies were mostlybasedonface-to-face structured discussions about the understanding of disease，future goals of care，andcare preferences of dementia patients， andthe interventionconsiderationsmainlyincluded thetiming ofimplementation，assessmentofthedecision-makingcapacityof dementia patients，promotionoffamilyinvolvement，andtrainingoftheinterventionimplementer.Theimplementationofadvance care planningindementiapopulationhadbeendemonstrated tobepositiveoverall，butthelong-termefectivenessof most intervention implementation strategied requires further research.
