【Abstract】Nutritional status may influence the immune response，and dietary restriction（DR），as an important dietaryintervention，hasbeenshown topotentiallplayanimportantregulatoryroleintheactivationandefectorfunctioning of immunecellsandisinvolvedintheprogressionofdiferentdiseass.Terefore，thisreviewsummarises thefectsofDRon thefunctional status of innateimmunecels，such asneutrophilsand monocytes，as wellasadaptive immunecell，suchas Bcells nd Tcels，and alsodiscusss theimpact of DR as a therapeuticstrategyonimmune functionindisease states such as infections，chronic inflammation，and cancer.
