Progress on Standards and Technologies for Adulteration Detection in Duck Blood Products

Abstract:Duck blood productsare traditional delicaciesin China.However,due totheir highnutritional valueand the diffcultyof theirsensory identification,adulterationof duck bloodproducts isawidespread problem.This paperreviews recent progresson standards and technologies for the detection of adulteration in duck blood products,with afocus on the applicationof DNA extraction,the three generations of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)technology,PCR-derived technology,membranechiptechnologygenebarcode technology,isothermalamplification technologyassspectrometry andelementalfingerprinting intheadulterationdetectionofduck blood products.Studieshave shown thatPCR has become the mainmeansfordetectingadulterationinduck blood productsduetoitshighsensitivityandrapidity.Theapplicationof PCR combined with membrane chip technology,PCR-lateral flow dipstick method and DNAsequencing technology has improvedtheeficiencyandrangeofadulterationdetectioninduck blood products.Masspectrometry,elementalanalysis andisothermal amplification technology haveuniqueadvantages in detectingadulterationof duck blood products,but relevant studies are scarce.This article aims to provide atheoretical basis forthequalityregulation of duck blood products and the development of adulteration detection technologies for them.
