Abstract:Hainan Tropical RainforestNationalPark isoneofthefirstfivenational parksestablished in China,where comprehensive biodiversity surveysareessential foundationsforthe construction ofthepark.Thepresent study investigatedthe Limushanareaforbryophyte diversity through systematicfield surveyand vouchercolection.Theresults were as follows:(1)Detailed morphological examinationof thespecimenswith consultation withrelevant literature revealed one moss species as a new record for China- Mithyridium obtusifolium (Lindb.)H.Rob.The main distinguishing features of the species include creeping main stems with erect branches; leaves broadly lanceolate,slightly rugosewith arounded-obtuse apex;and leaf sheathsslightly broadenedand differentiated borders extending fromthe leaf base to near the apex.(2)Detailed morphological descriptions and color plates of the species were provided based on the newly collected specimens.A global distribution map of M .obtusifolium was given,showing that this species is primarily found intropicalregions,particularlyonislandsinthe Indianand Pacific Oceansandalong adjacentcontinental coastlines.Ittypicallinhabits tree trunksanddecaying woodatelevationsbelow 5OOm.Thenewlyrecordedoccurrence inChinarepresents the northernmost knowndistribution forthisspeciesglobally.Aclasificationkeywas developed to distinguish the three known Mithyridium species in China: M. fasciculatum(Hook.& Grev.)H.Rob.,M.obtusifolium, and M. flavum(Mull.Hal.)H.Rob.(3)A literature review revealed that the taxonomy of Mithyridium was both complex and chalenging.The phylogenetic relationships between Mithyridium and the related Syrropodon Schwgr.as well as between M . obtusifolium and itsrelated M. fasciculatum,were discussed.Mithyridium isa mainly tropical lowland distributiongenus,thus functioning asan important indicator forconservation and ecological restoration in lowlandrainforesthabitats.Thediscoveryof new recordnotonlyenriches thefloristicdataof tropical bryophytes in Hainanandeven China,but also contributes new scientific insights into thetaxonomy,identification,and conservation of the genus Mitthyridium.

花叶藓科(CalymperaceaeKindb.)隶属于真藓门(或藓类植物门,Bryophyta)曲尾藓目(Dicranales),全世界现存10属219种(Catalogueof Life,CoL,https://www.catalogueoflife.org;TheBryophyteNomenclator,https://www.bryonames.org;Tropicos,https://www.tropicos.org;Jia & He,2024),广泛分布于热带地区,是全球低地热带森林中重要的附生成分(Gradstein&P6cs,1989)。(剩余16506字)
