【Abstract】With the deepeningof China’s“Carbon Peak”and“CarbonNeutrality”strategies,bio-based materials derived fromnatural plantshaveemergedasakeydirection forlow-carbondevelopmentintheautomotive materialssector, owing totheirlowercarbonemissonsandsignificantadvantages inrenewablesourcing,sustainabilityrecyclabilityand reusability.Tokeepabrestoftheresearchprogressinbio-basedmaterials,thepaperreviewstheclasificationand propertiesof conventional bio-based materialsused invehiclesandprovidesacomparativeanalysisof thesynthesis pathways of petroleum-basedand bio-based polymers.Italsoanalyzescurent applications within the automotive industry. Furthermore,thepaper summarizesrecentadvances byresearch institutionsand enterprises in improving the production processesandpropertiesof bio-basedmaterials,andoffersaperspectiveontheir futuredevelopment in theautomotive field.Theaim is to provideareference for further promotionand applicationof bio-based materials in vehicles.
