Abstract:This study analyzed the flow field in the cooling water jacket,the coolant circulation temperature,and the three-dimensional flow field around the entire scooter in its thermal management system. Based on the flow field analysis results,a structural modification wasproposed to increase the airflow rate through theradiatorcore and the wind speed overthe oil pan surface.The results show no obvious regions of ero coolant velocity within the water jacket.After modifying the structure of the radiator inner panel and base plate, the average wind speed over the radiator core surface increased from 5.5m/s to 7.54m/s ,and the airflow rate through the core increased from 288g/s to 422g/s ,indicating a significant improvement in both the airflow rate and the average wind speed over the surface.The wind speed atthe botom surface of the oil pan increased from 0-1m/s to 3-10m/s . Validation through a thermal balance test on a chassis dynamometer showed reductions of (204 7.09C , 11.0‰ ,and 10.5‰ in engine oil temperature,cylinder head spark plug gasket temperature,and radiator inlet temperature,respectively.
