For a long time， museums were perceived as the standard supporting facility of cities. As museums are often labeled as “high-end” and “refined”， making museums accessible in rural areas seems like an unattainable dream. After solving a series of “museum-building” challenges， such as who should build them and where the funding should come from， Zhejiang further tackles the challenge of opening rural museums that can sustain themselves. A promising path that can both satisfy the spiritual and cultural needs of people and contribute to the rural economic development is now clearly emerging before us.
