Control Effects of Several Pre - Emergent Herbicides Applied after Sowing on Alopecurus japonicus in Wheat Fields

Abstract:We screened several pre-emergence herbicidesappliedafter sowing to assess their eficacy in controling Alopecurus japonicusand toprovidea theoreticalbasis fortheir widespread promotion.Afield experiment was conducted toevaluate thecontrol efficacy of theseherbicidesin 2O23,included flufenacet 41% SC,flufenacet·diflufenican 35% (20 SC,diflufenican ⋅ flufenacet 30% SC,flufenacet ⋅⋅ diflufenican ⋅⋅ flutamone 33% SC,pyroxasulfone 40% SC,bixlozone
36% SC,and luximax 750g/L EC.The results showed that pyroxasulfone 40% SC,cinmethylin 750g/L EC,and flufenacet ·diflufenican 35% SC had long-lasting effcts,with control efficacy remaining around 80% at 136 days after application.At28daysafter application,slightyellowing of wheat leaves wasobserved intheplots treatedwith flufenacet·diflufenican 35% SC and pyroxasulfone 40% SC,the percentage of symptomatic wheat plants was less than 10% .However,wheat resumed normal growth at 48 daysafter application.The yield measurement results indicated that the wheat yield was the highest in the plot treated with pyroxasulfone 40% SC,reaching 471.88 kg/667 m², followed byluximax 75O g/L EC,and then flufenacet·diflufenican 35% SC.Based on the comprehensive results of control efficacy,selectivity,and wheat yield,it was recommended that pyroxasulfone 40% SC at 30 mL/667 m²,luximax 750g/L EC at 30 mL/667 m2 ,or flufenacet·diflufenican 35% SC at 95 mL/667 m² could be screened as pre - emergent herbicide applied after sowing in the hilly areas of Jiangsu Province.
