【Abstract】Diabetic kidney disease （DKD） is one of the common and serious microvascular complications of diabetes and has become a major factor in end -stage renal diseases worldwide.Currently，the number of DKD patients worldwide accounts for 8%-10% of the total world population. It is estimated that this number will increase to 592 millon by2O35.The incidencerateof DKDinChina isalso gradually increasing.Due to the complex pathogenesis of DKD，it alsoadds many dificulties to clinical treatment.P53，as an important tumorsuppressor gene，has been confirmed to playa significant role in the occurrence and development of diabetic nephropathy.In recent years，an increasing number of studies have focusedon the treatment of diabetic nephropathy by traditional Chinese medicine through regulating P53，achieving remarkable results.By systematically sorting out and summarizing the latest research progress in this field，new ideas and strategies are provided for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy.
