Risk factors for cognitive impairment in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome：a Meta-analysis

AbstractObjective：To systematically evaluate the risk factors of cognitive dysfunction in patients with OSAHS.Methods：Cohort or case-control studies on risk factors of cognitive impairment in OSAHS patients were retrieved from CNKI，WanFang Database，VIP，CBM，the Cochrane Library，Web of Science，PubMed，EMbase and other databases.The search period was from the establishment of the database to December 2022.RevMan 5.4 and Stata 16.0 were used for Meta-analysis of the literature after screening and quality evaluation.Results：A total of 17 articles were included，involving 2 534 patients.The results of Meta-analysis showed that age（OR＝1.37，95％CI 1.13-1.66，P＝0.002），BMI（OR＝1.25，95％CI 1.04-1.51，P＝0.02），AHI（OR＝1.18，95％CI 1.06-1.32，P＝0.003），abnormal blood lipids and blood glucose（OR＝2.68，95％CI 1.95-3.68，P＜0.000 01），and cerebrovascular accidents（OR＝3.17，95％CI 1.79-5.62，P＜0.000 1）were risk factors for cognitive dysfunction in OSAHS patients.Conclusion：Existing evidence shows that aging，high BMI，high AHI，cerebrovascular accident，dyslipidemia and blood glucose are risk factors for cognitive impairment in OSAHS patients in China.Due to the limited number and quality of included studies，the above conclusions need to be verified by more high-quality and large sample studies.
