Construction of a Nomogram model of retinopathy risk in community patients with type 2 diabetes in Weifang city

Abstract Objective：To construct a Nomogram model for predicting the risk of retinopathy（DR） in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM） so as to provide a reference for community medical staff to take targeted interventions.Methods：To collect 2 563 T2DM patients from 5 communities in Weifang city，and clinical data of 2 050 T2DM community patients were collected as the modeling group，and the clinical data of 513 patients were collected as the verification group. Univariate analysis was used to screen DR-related factors，statistically significant variables were included in the multivariate Logistic regression model，and risk factors for DR were analyzed. R software was used to establish a Nomogram model for predicting DR risk.Results：In the modeling group，2 050 T2DM patients were complicated with DR in 592 cases，and the incidence rate was 28.9%. Eight factors，including T2DM course of the disease，non-drug treatment，SBP，FPG，gender，HbA1c，LDL-C and UACR were finally screened out to build a risk prediction model. The prediction curve coincided with the observation curve，and the area under the receiver operating characteristic （ROC） curve was 0.823.Conclusion： The Nomogram model for predicting DR risk based on the risk factors of DR has good discrimination and accuracy，which could effectively identify high-risk groups of DR in patients in the community，and has guiding significance for formulating intervention measures.
