[Abstract]Throughcomparativeresearchandhistoricalresearchmethods，thisstudyexaminestheacademicresearchconsciosesand mentlityofthelibraryscienceeducatiocommunityduringtheRepublicofChina（912-1949）anditshstoricareasonsfromacoparative perspectivebetweenChinaandtheUnitedStates.Itisfoundthatfromtheprspectivesofresearchmethodologoursesacademicjourals andresearchinstutions，themergenceofacademicrsearchconscionsnessinthelibarysienceeucationcommunityofteepublicf China（192-1949）wasalmostsychonizedwiththatoftheUnitedStates;facedwiththecommonprobemofalackofteoreticalknowledge inlibrarysciencebetweenCinaandtheUnitedStates，hilekepingupiththeglobaltrendoflibrarysience，wehavequickldeveloed disciplinaryonscioseingthemegecefthereticalosousssdthtroductioofeigndisipliarykodgead researchmethods.Therearetwoatudestowardsacademicresearchinlibraryscienceeducation：the UnitedStatesfocusedonexteal discilinaryompeitiotvatethatusofibaycilinaocentraedintealdisiliardevepntigt strengthenthenationthroughacademicresearchereasonforearlyonscionsnessofacademicresearchinChinaiselatedtotheistorical opportuntiesinevelomentofbalibrasceadateoedvatageandssooecteoedgeoct in Chinese traditional culture.
