[Abstract]Throughcomparativeresearchandhistoricalresearchmethods,thisstudyexaminestheacademicresearchconsciosesand mentlityofthelibraryscienceeducatiocommunityduringtheRepublicofChina(912-1949)anditshstoricareasonsfromacoparative perspectivebetweenChinaandtheUnitedStates.Itisfoundthatfromtheprspectivesofresearchmethodologoursesacademicjourals andresearchinstutions,themergenceofacademicrsearchconscionsnessinthelibarysienceeucationcommunityofteepublicf China(192-1949)wasalmostsychonizedwiththatoftheUnitedStates;facedwiththecommonprobemofalackofteoreticalknowledge inlibrarysciencebetweenCinaandtheUnitedStates,hilekepingupiththeglobaltrendoflibrarysience,wehavequickldeveloed disciplinaryonscioseingthemegecefthereticalosousssdthtroductioofeigndisipliarykodgead researchmethods.Therearetwoatudestowardsacademicresearchinlibraryscienceeducation:the UnitedStatesfocusedonexteal discilinaryompeitiotvatethatusofibaycilinaocentraedintealdisiliardevepntigt strengthenthenationthroughacademicresearchereasonforearlyonscionsnessofacademicresearchinChinaiselatedtotheistorical opportuntiesinevelomentofbalibrasceadateoedvatageandssooecteoedgeoct in Chinese traditional culture.
