Yan Ning， a Chinese structural biologist left Princeton University and returned to help build a medical academy in Shenzhen， Guangdong province.

Yan is going to help set up the Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation （SMART）. Yan said she wanted to support more excellent scholars and deal with health problems humans are facing. For her， Shenzhen is an energetic place where anything is possible. “Shenzhen is the city of dreams， and I want to realize my next dream here， ” Yan said in a speech.

Yan’s return can be seen as a case of China paying great attention to developing the careers （事业） of talented people. The country gives good chances， which have made many overseas （海外） students and talents return.

China has taken action to attract global talent. At the beginning of this year， the Ministry of Science and Technology made a policy to encourage companies to hire （聘请） high⁃level foreign experts.
