Key parameters analysis of GPS spoofing signals based on open-source simulation and reception platforms

Abstract: GPS spoofing signals have garnered significant attention due to their security threats to navigation systems and potential applications.Existing researches typically rely on expensive hardware simulators and dedicated receivers,limiting the reproducibility and scalability. The open-source GPSSDR-SIM signal simulator and the GNSS-SDR reception platform are employed to design a flexible and reproducible experimental scheme,investigating the effects of time delay,positional distance difference,and signal power on receiver response.Experimental results indicate that when the time delay exceeds 600ns ,the receiver fails to achieve successful positioning,rendering the spoofing signal largely ineffective;when the positional distance difference reaches 500m ,the receiver’s positioning error extends to 4000m ,causing spoofing failure;when the signal power drops below -8dB ,the positioning result remains within 20m of the real signal,making it difficult for the spoofing signal to interfere with normal positioning.This study demonstrates the potential of open-source experimental platforms in GPS spoofing signal research and provides critical support for navigation system security assessments and the development of anti-spoofing interference technologies.
