Numerical Simulation of the Effects of Charging on the Blasting Damage Outcomes of Breakwater

[ABSTRACT]Acombination of experimentsandnumerical simulations was used to investigatethe damage of breakwaters built with rock pilesunderdiferent chargesand burialdepths.Theresearchresults indicatethat increasing the charge amount and burial depth can enhance the blasting damage on breakwaters. When the charge amount is 1kg ,the diameter of the explosion pit,thedepthof the explosionpit,and thediameterof thecrack zone increaseby1.11,O.41times and0.95 times respectively withaburied depth of 10cmcompared to those without burial depth.The diameterof theexplosion pit, thedepth of heexplosion pit,andthediameterofthecrack zone increase by2.O8,2.18 timesand1.97times respectively withaburied depth of2Ocmcompared tothose without burial depth.Whenthe burieddepthof thechargeis 2O cm,the diameteroftheexplosion pit,thedepthof the explosion pit,and thediameterof thecrack zone increase byO.57,0.28 times ad O.21 times respectively with a charge amount of2kgcompared to those with a charge amountof1kg.The diameterof theexplosion pit,thedepth oftheexplosionpit,andthediameterofthecrack zone increasedbyO.63,0.35 times and O.51 times respectively with a charge amount of 3kg compared to those with a charge amount of1 kg. It can provide references for practical blasting engineering and military operations.
