Abstract：Thedetectionofseriesarc faultsisgreatlyaffectedbythetypeofload，and traditional fault detectionmethods thatusecurrentcharacteristicshave thedificultyofsetting thresholdcriteria.Inresponseto this issue，anonline detection methodforseriesarc faultsbasedonthetime diferencevariationof load side voltageis proposed.By identifying the presenceoffault arcvoltage inthe circuit，the arcfault detection isachieved.Byusing theadjacentwaveinspectionmode，thesuspectedarcfaultvoltagefaultsignalisdetected，andthenthereference waveform detection mode is triggered toconfirm thearc fault.The testresults show that the successrateof identifyingthenumberoffaultarcsofvariousloadsismore than 95% .With thedevelopment ofpowerInternet of Things and smart home technology，the proposed method provides a new idea for series arc fault detection.
