Abstract:Thedetectionofseriesarc faultsisgreatlyaffectedbythetypeofload,and traditional fault detectionmethods thatusecurrentcharacteristicshave thedificultyofsetting thresholdcriteria.Inresponseto this issue,anonline detection methodforseriesarc faultsbasedonthetime diferencevariationof load side voltageis proposed.By identifying the presenceoffault arcvoltage inthe circuit,the arcfault detection isachieved.Byusing theadjacentwaveinspectionmode,thesuspectedarcfaultvoltagefaultsignalisdetected,andthenthereference waveform detection mode is triggered toconfirm thearc fault.The testresults show that the successrateof identifyingthenumberoffaultarcsofvariousloadsismore than 95% .With thedevelopment ofpowerInternet of Things and smart home technology,the proposed method provides a new idea for series arc fault detection.
