Research Progresson Anti-inflammatory Activityand Mechanismof Periplaneta americana

Abstract:The traditional medicinal insect Periplanetaamericana has emergedasa focalpoint inanti-inflammatory research due to its rich pharmacological activities.Extractsandbioactive components from Periplanetaamericana, including peptides,aminoacids,polysaccharides,and coumarins,exhibit significant anti-inflammatory ffects.The mechanisms involve modulating immunecells,regulating nitric oxide(NO)and its synthase activity,mitigating mitochondrial dysfunction,restoring gut microbiota balance,and modulating inflammatorycytokines.Classical signaling pathways such as NF- κ B,MAPK,and JAK/STAT play pivotal roles in its anti-inflammatory actions.These findingsprovideatheoretical foundation for theclinical applicationof Periplanetaamericanaand thedevelopmentof novel anti-inflammatory therapeutics.
