Response of radial growth of Abies nephrolepis to environmental factors in Changbaimountain

Abstract:【Objective】Studyingtheradialgrowthof tresiscucialforreconstructingpastclimaticconditionsandpredictingthe futureadaptabilityofreststolimatechangeandfordevelopingsustaableforestmaagementstrategies.【Method】TeGopertz modelwausedtoftthegrowthcurveofAbiesnephrolepistodeterminethetimeofgrowigseason.Theperiodiccyclemethoddaily valuemethodandzergrowthmodelwereusedtoextract tedailydialvration,andtheorelationbetwnteadalvationin thegrowingseasonandevionmentalfactorssuchaairtmperatureandumiditysoiltmpeatureandumidityasprocdad analyzed.【Result】1)ThegrowthseasonofAbiesnephrolepisbeganinearlyMayandendedfromlateJulytoAugust.Themaximum growthrateappearedbeforethesummersolstice;2)TheannualradialvariationsequenceofAbiesnephrolepis hasobviousseasonal characteristics.Terapidwaterreplenishmentexpansioninarlyspringandthefreze-tawccleofsteminwinteradstogeradial varition,whilethelongperiodcausedbyontiuouscoolinginsummerandcontiuouscontractionoflowtemperatureinwintermakes thedailyradialvarationofpriodiccyclemethodsignfcantlydiferentfromothermethds;3)Duringtegrowingseasonsuint rainfallandlowsaturatedaporpresuredeficitwerethekeyfactorstopromotetedailyadialgrowthofAbiesnephrolepiswhilete minimumtemperatureatnghtsignifcantlyaffectedtheexpansiongrowthprocessofadialvariation.Thedailyvaluemethodandthe zerogrowthmodelemphasizethsyegisticfectofultipleydrothealonditiossuchasaverageairtemperature,soiltmpature andhumiditywhiletheperiodiccyclemethodemphasizestheoleofwaterfactors(saturatedvaporpressrediferene,aiall), and the periodic cycle method has a higher interpretation of growth variablesabout 60% .【Conclusion】Rainfall and saturated vapor presurediferencewerethedominantenvironmentalfactorsinthegrowingseasonofAbiesnephrolepis inthestudyrea,followedby thehighstairtemperatureandsoilmoistureTeperiodiccclmetodismoresuitableforthestudyofshorttetreeadialgrowthin this area than other methods.
