Abstract:Rye(Secale cereale L., 2n=2x=14 ,RR)is a member of the wheat family in the Poaceae subfamily,mainly produced in Russia,Germany,and Poland. It is mainly distributed in Northeast,North, and Northwest China,and plays multiple roles in agricultural production due to its outstanding cold and poor tolerance. It can be used as green manure to improve soil,as well as a source of high-quality forage,and can also be processed into various health products. In order to promote the comprehensive utilization of rye resources,this article reviewed the research progress on the distribution of germplasm resources,cultivation techniology,soil improvement effects,feed nutritional value,and functional food development of rye. It deeply analyzes the advantages and limitations of current rye research and utilization,and looks forward to future research directions. This includes strengthening systematic research and innovative utilization of germplasm resources,establishing regionalized precise cultivation and ecological management models,promoting full industrial chain development and high-valueutilization,and establishing acolaborative innovation system integrating industry,academia and research.
