《一个圣诞节的回忆》是美国著名作家杜鲁门·卡坡蒂创作的一篇温馨、感人的短篇小说。小说基于卡坡蒂本人的童年经历而写成：由于父母离异，年幼的卡坡蒂被送到亲戚家中抚养，在那里他与表姑苏克·费克建立了深厚的感情。小说中的男孩Buddy便是卡坡蒂自己的化身。

I’m Buddy. I’m seven years old. I live with my 60-year-old cousin aunt. She is a happy old lady. Every late November， we make fruitcakes for Christmas.

We use old things to decorate（装饰） our Christmas tree and windows. We are so proud of our work. Oh， and our dog， Queenie， tries to eat an angel.

Buddy， doesn’t it look good enough to eat？

It’s Christmas Eve. In the afternoon， we buy a bone（骨头） for our dog as a Christmas gift.

Queenie， you can open your gift tomorrow！

On Christmas Day， our family members come over. Everyone shares gifts. We both make kites for each other.

Buddy， the wind is blowing. Let’s go flying kites！

Great idea.

We lie on the grass and watch our kites flying high. Queenie is digging a hole to bury（埋） her bone. What a wonderful Christmas！

I could leave the world with today in my eyes.
