Impact of enteral immunonutrition formulations on postoperative in patients with colorectal cancer：a Meta-analysis

Abstract Objective：To systematically evaluate the effects of enteral immunonutrition formulations on postoperative immune function and nutritional status in patients with colorectal cancer.Methods：A comprehensive search was conducted in CNKI，WanFang Database，CBM，VIP，PubMed，EMbase，the Cochrane Library，and Web of Science to collect randomized controlled trials related to parenteral immune nutrition in patients after radical surgery for colorectal cancer.The retrieval time was from the inception to July 1，2023.Two researchers screened the literature according to inclusion and exclusion criteria，extracted relevant data，and assessed the quality of the studies.Statistical analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software.Results：A total of 10 studies were included，involving 615 patients after radical surgery for colorectal cancer.The Meta-analysis results showed that CD4+（WMD=4.60，95%CI 3.28-5.92，Z=6.82，P<0.000 01），CD3+（WMD=3.79，95%CI 1.64-5.93，Z=3.46，P=0.000 5），CD4+/CD8+（WMD=0.34，95%CI 0.21-0.47，Z=5.16，P<0.000 01），immunoglobulin IgA（WMD=0.42，95%CI 0.34-0.51，Z=9.69，P＜0.000 01），immunoglobulin IgM（WMD=0.19，95%CI 0.13-0.25，Z=6.15，P＜0.000 01），ALB（WMD=1.77，95%CI 1.15-2.39，Z=5.59，P＜0.000 01），TRF（WMD=0.29，95%CI 0.20-0.37，Z=6.68，P＜0.000 01），all indicating statistically significant differences.Conclusion：Current evidence shows that enteral immunonutrition formulations emerges as a promising intervention to enhance immune function and nutritional status in patients with colorectal cancer following radical surgery.
