Effect of FOCUS-PDCA model on daily living ability and quality of life in elderly patients with sarcopenia：a Meta-analysis

Abstract Objective：To systematically evaluate the effects of FOCUS-PDCA model on daily living ability and quality of life in elderly patients with sarcopenia.Methods：Randomized controlled trials on the effects of FOCUS-PDCA model on daily living ability and quality of life in elderly patients with sarcopenia were searched from PubMed，Web of Science，the Cochrane Library，CNKI，WanFang Database，VIP and CBM. The search period was from the establishment of the database to December 31，2022. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software.Results：A total of 5 articles were included，involving 534 patients. The results of Meta-analysis showed that the intervention using the FOCUS-PDCA model could effectively improve the patients′ quality of life （SMD=2.52，95%CI 1.50-3.54，P<0.000 01） and improve their daily activity ability （MD=23.94，95%CI 14.96-32.96，P<0.000 01）.Conclusion：The available evidence shows that the FOCUS-PDCA model can improve the daily living ability and quality of life of elderly patients with sarcopenia.
