Curling is a team sport played on ice， referred to as“chess on ice". Players slide granite stones，each weighing about 20 kilograms， towarda target area called the “house” at the other end of the ice sheet. By sweeping the ice， they control the stone's trajectory and speed. Originating in 16th-century Scotland， curling has become an official sport in the Winter Olympics.
