Iron Fireworks, a kind of spectacular traditional Chinese folk art dating back to the Northern Song Dynasty, was initially used by blacksmiths to celebrate harvests and pray for safety. It requires great courage and skill: craftsmen smelt iron to over 1,600℃, scoop up the molten iron with wet wooden spoons, and hurl it at cold iron plates—sending up golden iron sparks as high as 10 meters. As a folk art passed down from master to apprentice, it symbolizes vitality, good fortune, and perseverance. It is a festive highlight in regions like Henan and Shanxi provinces, reminding people to cherish the wisdom of ancient craftsmen and the beauty of handcrafted creations.
