鹏程万里出自《庄子·逍遥游》:“鹏之徙于南冥也,水击三千里,抟扶摇而上者九万里”。后用以比喻前程远大,不可限量。

There is a legend in Zhuangzi.

Once upon a time, a 1)gigantic fish named kun lived in thenorthern sea. No one knew its true size. This fish could changeinto an 2)enormous bird, known as peng (roc), and no one knewthe extent of its back measured in thousands of li (1 li=0.5 km).When the bird spread its wings, the wings looked like hugeclouds in the sky.
