progress on self-assembly polyphilic liquid crystalmolecules
Abstract:Liquid crystals,as ordered fluid,provide excellent physical environment the orderly self-assembly functional molecules.Traditional research has mainly focused on the one-dimensional ordered assembly liquid crystal molecules,such as in Nematic or Smectic phases. This article reviews the latest progress in the complex assembly phase behavior polyphilic liquid crystal molecules.By regulating the degree mode microscopic phase separation,a series assembly modes have been achieved,rging from two-dimensional honeycomb columnar phases to three-dimensional network structures.The article explores the influence steric effcts phase separation on the mation mechisms assembled structures, such as superlattices Frk-Kasper phases,while also alyzing therole fundamental mathematical concepts like minimal surfaces supramolecular chirality in assembly behavior. Additionally,it systematically discusses the phase trsition paths in two-dimensional tiling liquid crystals,thecontrol mechisms three-dimensional network structures, the supramolecular chirality behavior arising from symmetry breaking. These studies provide new insights into the understing complex supramolecular systems in nature artificial reticular chemistry.
