Homomorphic computing hardware accelerator for RNS-CKKS scheme

Abstract:Toaddress thechalengeof thesubstantialdata storage,transmissionoverheadandlowcomputationaleffciencyin fullyhomomorphicencryptionaplications,this work proposedahardwareacceleratorforhomomorphiccomputationbasedon the mainstream RNS-CKKS scheme.Thisaccelerator featuredadivide-and-conquer permutation network for the automorphism operator toachieve eficientdataschedulinganddynamicrouting.Concurrently,byadoptinganon-chipandof-chipcollaborative storage strategyandreconstructing thecomputation flow,the aceleratorreduced theon-chipcaching requirements for hardware-deployedkey-switchingoperationsandefectivelyhidof-chipmemorylatency.Tofurther enhancecomputationalefficiencyandresourceutilization,itconstructedaunifiedproessingaayandanoptimizedon-chipcachearchitecture.Experimental results onFPGA show that compared to the OpenFHE software library,this design achieves speedups of 8.68 to 56.2 times.Furthermore,intheciphertext-ciphertexthomomorphicmultiplicationoperation,theproposeddesignachieves1.18to 1.53times accelerationand1.10to4.98 timesarea eficiencyimprovementsover similar hardwareaccelerationsolutions, whilealsooferingcertainadvantages inconfiguability.Thisworkcontributestothehardware-efficientdeploymentofhomomorphic encryption schemes.
