TheInfluence ofHost Territorial Behavior on Tourists’ Negative Word-of-Mouth in P2P Accommodations : Based on the Psychological Reactance Perspective

Abstract:Research on host teritorial behavior has become a focal point in academia.However,existing studies have focused on the relationship between host teritorial behavior and tourists’on-site behavior,overlooking the sustained negative impact of host territorial behavior on tourists’ post-visit behavior.From a psychological reactance perspective,this study employed SPSS 25.0,Mplus 8.0 and fsQCA 4.0 to investigate 512 samples through structural equation modeling and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis. Our findings reveal that host territorial behavior positively affects tourists’ negative word-of-mouth behavior.Furthermore,psychological reactance mediates the positive relationship between host teritorial behavior and tourists’ negative word-of-mouth behavior.Trait mindfulness negatively moderates two efects including the positive effect of host teritorial behavior on psychological reactance and the mediating effct of psychological reactance on the relationship between host teritorial behavior and tourists’negative word-of-mouth behavior.These insights contribute to avoiding negative word-of-mouth behavior among tourists in P2P accommodation,as well as creating homestay enterprises with shared spaces between hosts and guests.
