Abstract:【Objective】ThisstudyaimedtoinvestigatetheefectsofdiferentpruningintensitiesonknotsizeinyoungLarixolgesis plantations.Method】ThirtyyoungL.olgensistreesfromtheMengjiagangforestfarinHeilongjiangProvincewereselectedas sample treesand subjected to four pruning intensities 0% 20% 30% ,and 40% ).Knotdissectiondatawere collected,and mixed-effect modelsforkoteter(KD),soudotlgth(KL),ndlooseotlength(LK)wereonstructeditrugiteit effect.Tesemodelswrecompaedwithbaseliemodelstoevalatetefectsofpruningonknoatributes.【Result】Comparedwith baseline models,themixed-effect models performed beter in terms ofRMSEand MAE,with R2 valuesof0.724,0.826,and 0.308 for KD,SKL,andLKL,respectively,predictionaccuracy exceeded 94% ,indicating that mixed-effect models provided reliable predictions ofknot properties.Artificial pruning significantly reducedknot influence in L .olgensis.Undermoderatepruning 30% ),SKLincreased by 0.46cm compared with unpruned trees,whileKD and LKL were reduced by 0.14cm and 0.31cm ,respectively.This suggests that moderate pruningpromoteshealthybranchgrowthwhileefectivelyreducing theformationoflooseknots.【Conclusion】Thisstudy confiredtheelabilityofmixd-efftmodelsinpredictigkarbtes,demonstratigteirabilitytosimulatethectsofpring intensity on knot development.Among different pruning intensities,moderate pruning (30%) showed the best performance in controlling knotsize,reducingLKLwhilemaintainingstemstability. Underthestudyconditions,itrepresentsareasonablepruningstrategy.
