Study on the Main Points of Dam Type Comparison and Dam Body Design in the Design ofWater Retaining Structures

Abstract: [Purposes] This study aims to discussthe issues of dam type comparison and dam body design in the design of water retaining structures,with the goal of enhancing the safety and economy of water conservancy projects.[Methods] Through economic analysis,technical feasibility analysis,and environmental impact assessment,diferent dam types are comprehensively compared to ensure that the selected dam type achieves an optimal balance in terms of cost,construction technology,and ecological impact. In terms of dam body design,the focus is on analyzing influence of material selection and properties,dam geometry,water flow,and geological conditions on the dam structure.[Findings] The results show that reasonable dam type selection and scientific dam design can not only improve project safety but also reduce construction and maintenance costs.[Conclusions] The research outcomes can provide guidance for the design of water conservancy projects and promote the development of green and sustainable water conservancy engineering.
