Development and Application of an IoT-Based Motor Monitoring System Experimental Teaching Platform for Vocational Colleges

Abstract:[Purposes] This paper aims to design and implement an IoT-based motor monitoring system tailored to the teaching requirements of the Electrical Automation major in vocational colleges,utilizing it as an experimental teaching platform.[Methods] The system design integrates multiple types of sensors (temperature,current,vibration,etc.) for data acquisition via a microcontroller.Acquired data is transmitted wirelessly to a cloud platform,and a visual monitoring interface was developed.[Findings] Aligned with the characteristics of vocational education,a series of teaching cases and experimental projects were developed. These include practical components such as sensor installation and calibration, dataacquisition system construction,and fault diagnosis and analysis,culminating in a comprehensive experimental teaching platform.[Conclusions] Application results demonstrate that the system not only enhances students‘understanding of IoT technology applications in industrial scenarios but also cultivates their abilities insystem designand fault analysis.It providesan effective practical platform for teaching within the Electrical Automation major.
