Abstract Aimed to develop lightweight, flexible,and biodegradable electromagnetic shielding materials,a hierarchical spray-coating technique was employed to fabricate MXene/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/polylactic acid (PLA) nonwoven composites. After substrate pretreatment,MWCNTs dispersion and MXene ( Ti3C2Tx ) dispersion were sequentially sprayed to regulate the conductive network structure through coating cycles. The results show that MWCNTs formed a primary conductive layer on fiber surfaces,while MXene nanosheets constructed a secondary conductive network via electrostatic self-assembly, forming a multi-scale heterostructure while maintaining the material's porosity and flexibility. When MXene coating reached 5 cycles,the composite achieved an average shielding effectiveness of 46.8dB in the X-band (8.2~12.4GHz) , significantly surpassing pure PLA nonwoven fabric. Mechanism analysis confirmed that the composite primarily atenuated electromagnetic waves through reflection while simultaneously exhibitingabsorption effects.
