AbstractWith the rapid development of industrialization,global water resource shortages and heavy metal pollution are intertwined, posing a serious threat to ecological security and human health. Based on the status of heavy metal removal technology,this paper analyzes the characteristics and limitations of carbon-based materials,metal-organic frameworks,and biomass adsorbents. It also focuses on hydrogel materials,explaining their 3D network structure,preparation mechanism involving physical/chemical cross-linking,and summarizing the progress of natural, synthetic,and composite hydrogels in heavy metal adsorption. Furthermore,it explores functional modification strategies and adsorption efficiency of 1D to 3D textile materials,considering their multi-dimensional structure and mechanical properties. Building on this foundation,the paper proposes the design of hydrogel-textile composite materials,optimization of mechanical strength,enhancement of selective adsorption capacity,and improvement of eco-friendly manufacturing processes. This aims to promote large-scale application of these materials in heavy metal pollution control and provide innovative solutions for safe and sustainable water resource system.
