Preparation and photocatalytic performance of fiber-based AgNPs ZIF-8 heterostructure materials

Abstract Photocatalysts constructed from metal-organic framework, such as ZIF-8 remain hampered by significant limitations,including suboptimal catalytic efficiency and insuficient stability. AgNPs (204号 ZIF-8 heterojunction nanomaterials were synthesized and subsequently immobilized on PVDF nanofibers using screen-printing techniques to fabricate an eficient and stable nanofiber-based photocatalyst. The structural properties of the material were comprehensively characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD),fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy. And the degradation performence of the material for methylene blue was tested by photocatalytic experiment. The results demonstrated that AgNPs ZIF-8 exhibited markedly enhanced photoelectrochemical properties compared to pure ZIF-8. Under a water flow rate of 500mL/min ,photocatalytic reaction rate constant of the AgNPs ZIF-8/PVDF composite nanofiber membrane the was 2.6 times higher than that of the nanoparticles,with an MB degradation efficiency reaching 70% and exhibiting excellent stability. This study provides a foundational platform for the practical implementation of flow-driven photocatalysis in industrial wastewater treatment.
