Abstract:In order to realizethe effective detection of pipeline crack defects,acrack detection method based on alternating electromagnetic field is proposed torealize theeffctivedetectionofcracks with different directions. Themathematical modelofaltemnating electromagnetic field detection is established.Combined with the basic structure of U type sensor,the detection principle of alternating electromagnetic field is studied,and the distribution law of electromagnetic field generated on the surface of pipeline is analyzed.The distorted magnetic field signals causedbycircumferentialandaxial cracksare extractedand analyzedby finite element simulation. Theexperimental platform is built to verifythe influence ofcrack defect depthon the detectionsignal.The results show thatthe U type detection structure can effectively detect the circumferential and axialcracks on the surface ofthe pipeline.When there is a circumferential crack,theAC leakage magnetic field plays adominant role in the detection.When there is anaxial crack,the eddycurrent playsa dominant role in the detection.The judgment of the crack direction can be realized according to the reverse signal characteristics of the z -axiscomponentsof the two.The research conclusion provides a new detection idea for pipeline crack detection.
