Recurrence rates and risk factors for granulomatous lobular mastitis：a systematic review

Abstract Objective：To systematically evaluate the recurrence of granulomatous lobular mastitis （GLM）.Methods：Studies on influencing factors of GLM recurrence were retrieved from CNKI，WanFang Database，CBM，VIP，PubMed，Web of Science，and EMbase，from the establishment of the database to May 16，2023.Results： A total of 9 articles were included，involving 1 741 GLM patients. Meta-analysis results showed that the recurrence rate of GLM was （16%，95%CI 12%-21%）. The analysis of influencing factors showed that Corynebacterium infection （OR=4.80，95%CI 1.76-13.09，P<0.01），smoking （OR=11.01，95%CI 1.14-106.78，P<0.05），etc. were independent risk factors for GLM recurrence.Conclusions： Existing evidence shows that the recurrence rate of GLM is high and is affected by factors such as Corynebacterium infection and smoking. Due to the limited number of included studies，the research results need to be verified by more high-quality studies.
