Research on the Localization of the Translation of“Vaccine” in Modern China Based on Newspapers and Magazines//ZHOU Shanglin

Abstract：Modern times wereaperiodwhenalarge numberof Westernmedical technologies wereintroduced.Theintroductionof thesetechnologieswasalsoinseparablefromtheprocessoflocalizingtheirtermsandtheitroductionofthesetechnologieswaiseparablefromtheprocessoflocalizing theirterms.Basedonmodernnewspapersand magazines，thispapertakesthelocalizationproces of“vaccine”asanexampletoexploretheusagefrequencyandtrendsofmultiplemainstreamtranslationsof“vaccine”，andanalyzes andinterprets theapplicationofeachmainstream translation.Itisfoundthatalthough theusagefrequencyandpeak usageof each translationof“vacne”maychangeduetoepidemics，research trends，etc.，thelocalizationprocessof“vaccine”isnotonlya process f promotingvacine technologyinChina，butalsoanintegrationof“old”Chinesecharactersandknowledgewith“new” terms and knowledge.
