Abstract:Indeep waterdrilling,,therearechallenges toworkoutthetemperatureandpressure variation pattrns inwellboreand itisdificult todeterminethegas influx(overflow)anddrllingfluidlosspositions,especiallyunderthecomplex coexistence ofoverflowandloss conditions.Inthis study,atransient wellore temperatureand pressure modelunderthe coexistenceofoverflowandcirculationlossconditionswasestablished,basedonheat transferanalysisandaccounting for theimpactof variable massflowinwellbore annuluson temperatureandpressurechanges.Theanalysisof thegas influx andcirculation losscoexistence was conductedbydefiningandcalculating thetemperatureand pressure diferences along theanulus.Thesimulationresults indicate thatthetemperature diferenceis generall greaterunder theconditionofupper gasinfluxandlower circulationloss positions compared tothat with upper circulationlossand lowergas influx,while the pressure diference is generally greaterunder theconditionof upper circulationlossand lowergas influx compared to upper gas influxandlower circulation loss.Anabrupt changeofannular temperature diferenceinanopen hole section mostly corresponds toagas influxposition,whileatransitioninannulartemperaturediferenceinanopenholesectioncorsponds toacirculationlossposition.Alarger initial gas invasion pressurediferencecanresult inagreaterannular temperature diferenceatthewellhead.Astheinitial circulationlosspressurediffrenceincreases,theannulartemperaturedifference at thewellhead decreases.
