Abstract:【Objective】Toevaluate fruit trait variations inLufaacutangula germplasmand identify eliteaccessions for breding high-yield,high-qualityvarieties.【Method】Fourteen fruit traits(8qualitative,6quantitative)were measured across 3O accessions.Corelationand principal component analysis(PCA)were applied for evaluation.【Result】 QualitativetraitsshowedgeneticdiversityindicesofO254~1.210,whilequantitativetraitshadcoeffcientsofvariationof 5.09%~25.82%.Theeightqualitativetraitsarepredominantlycontroledbygeneticfactors,exhibitinganaverage broadsense heritabilityof 83.54% . Incontrast,the six quantitative traits show a lower average broad-sense heritability of 71.59%,indicating thattheir expresion is considerably influenced byenvironmental conditions.Fruit length positively corelated with young fruit weightand peduncle length but negativelywithridge numberand waxiness.Young fruit weight positivelycorelatedwithlengthandwidthbutnegativelywithridgenumber.PCAidentifiedfiveprincipalcomponents (cumulativevariance contribution rate: 75.667% ),representing appearance,size,weight,morphology,and ridge characteristics.Ten elite accessions,including'Taiyou 8′ (GGD-5),'Jiannan Huadian Darou'(GGD-4) and 'Chunruyi (GFJ-3),were selected.【Conclusion】PCA efectively evaluates Luffa acutangula fruit traits.The selected germplasms are valuable parental materials for breeding.
