Design of an Automated System to Improve Motor-Vehicle Inspection Efficiency

【Abstract】 In response to the continuous growth of motor vehicle inspection volume in a certain city and the eficiencybottleneckof thesemi-onlineprocess,thispaperdesignsathre-layerautomated inspectionsystemof"edgeplatform-application": optimizing thealocationof inspectionstations through arollingschedulingdrivenbyappointments; achievig multi-source automatic data collectionandconsistency verification byconnecting various types of inspection equipment through OPC UA/security adapters; building a unified data model and NTP + PTP timing mechanism, parameterizing the regulatory provisions into DSL rules andlinking them with online audits.The comparison results of two stations over3O days show thatthe average inspection time per vehiclehas been reduced to 12.1 minutes (-34.9 % ) the lane throughput has increased to 16.3 vehicles per hour (+45.5% ),the first-time pass rate has risen to 86.9 % ( +i 8.5pp), and the manual intervention has decreased to O.31 times per vehicle (-63.1 % ). The system availability is 99.72% and has passedtheinternal evaluationofthe level-2 informationsecurity protection.Thissolutiondoes notrequire majorchanges to the existing equipment, significantly improving efficiency and traceability,and has promotion value.
