Abstract:The corrosion behavior of N8O steel in an environment of supercritical CO2 with a high H2 S content was investigated throughcorosiontests,surfacecharacterization,waterchemistryanalysis,andthermodynamiccalculation.Thisinvestigationrevealed theevolution mechanismofcorrosion morphologyandcorrosionfilm.TheresultsshowthatthecorosionmorphologyofN8Ostelchanges fromgeneralcorrosiontolocalizedcorrosion withtheextensionofcorosiontime.Initially,the predominantcorrosionproductisfeatheryFeS formedbysolid-phasereactions,andtheoverallprotectiveefectof thecoosionfilm isrelativelypor,leadingtoseveregeneralcorrosionofN8Osteel.Afterprolongedcorrosion,thecorrsionproducts transform into crystalline FeS and FeCO3 formed by deposition reactions,and the corrosion film provides overall good protection,slowing down the corrosion of N8O steel. However,the uneven deposition of FeCO3 and FeS induces localized corrosion of the substrate.
