Abstract:The MidleEastholdsnearlyhalfof theworld'srecoverable hydrocarbonreserves,predominantlyhostedincarbonatereservoirscharacterizedbymulti-scaleheterogeneity.Integrating multi-domainstaticanddynamicdata fromkeyoilfields inthe UnitedArab Emirates,Oman,Iraq,andIran,thisstudy proposesaunifiedclasificationframework encompassing five representative carbonate sedimentary models:ramp,rimmed platform,epicontinental sea ramp,evaporative platform,and submerged platform.Thesesystems exhibit dynamic transitionsgoverned bysea-level fluctuationsand tectonicactivities. Rampsand epeiric ramps initialldevelopthrough aggradation.Withinthe innerramp,high-energy environments promote the formationofbiologicalreefsorshoals,generating sedimentary highs.During transgresive phases,reef-shoal complexed expand,eventuallyevolving intorimmed platforms.Evaporative platforms form during sea-levelfallor tectonicuplift,whereas subsequent transgresionorsubsidence may transformthem into submerged platforms.Intheramp model,the mainreservoirs are iner-rampshoals;intherimmed platform,theyareplatform-marginreef-shoalcomplexes.Tidal channel facies within lagoons exhibithighpermeabiltybut strong heterogeneity.The epicontinentalramp modeldevelops typical spherulitic granularlimestonewith excelentreservoircontinuity,large scale,and weak heterogeneityTheevaporativeplatformshows intense evaporation in thesupratidalzone,wheredolomite,gypsum,and limestonecoexisttoformcomplexreservoirarchitectures. The submergedplatform mainlydevelops planktonic foraminiferal wackestones characterizedbyintrafosil porosity,poorconnectivity,the typical features of high porosity,low permeability,and weak heterogeneity.
