Abstract: The teaching of cross-cultural English reading for graduate students in finance and economics institutions faces multiple challenges, including weak cross-cultural awareness among students, lack of reading strategies, an imbalanced curriculum, monotonous teaching methods, a shortage of specialized cross-cultural reading materials and learning platforms, as well as insufficient faculty capacity and inadequate evaluation mechanisms. The cultivation of cross-cultural reading skills is influenced by both subjective and objective factors. Subjectively, it depends on students' cross-cultural communication motivation and English language foundation, while objectively, it is constrained by teaching modes, curriculum design, and teachers' cross-cultural teaching abilities. To improve the quality of training, it is necessary to construct a multidimensional path, build an integrated "finance + cross-cultural" curriculum system, innovate diversified teaching methods and models, strengthen the faculty team, improve the guarantee system for high-quality teaching resources, establish a scientific evaluation and feedback mechanism, and foster a conducive cross-cultural campus atmosphere, so as to achieve the synchronous improvement of students' language proficiency, cross-cultural literacy, and financial expertise.
