Abstract: As a pivotal branch of traditional Chinese culture, Huxiang Culture has been nurtured and inherited over millennia, embodying profound humanistic spirit and educational values. It not only serves as a unique resource repository for the teaching reform of College Chinese courses but also plays an irreplaceable role in cultivating students’ humanistic literacy and enhancing their cultural confidence. Based on the reform and practice of College Chinese courses in local vocational colleges, this paper starts from the exploitable College Chinese course resources embedded in Huxiang Culture. By investigating the current status of development and utilization, it analyzes the significance of these resources in enriching teaching content, fostering cultural confidence, improving core Chinese language literacy, and promoting the inheritance of regional culture. Furthermore, it expounds on the core principles that should be followed in development and utilization, and explores specific implementation approaches. The aim is to construct a College Chinese teaching paradigm with distinct Huxiang characteristics, thereby providing practical references for the teaching reform of College Chinese courses in similar institutions.
