Abstract: Grounded in postcolonial translation theory, this paper examines the problems emerging in the translation of Chinese culture-loaded words into Italian. It categorizes Chinese culture-loaded words into distinct types, and analyzes the underlying causes of translation problems with reference to specific translation cases. On this basis, the paper puts forward three feasible translation strategies for translators: interpretation, hybridization and resistant translation. The research findings can provide targeted strategies for the Italian translation of Chinese culture-loaded words, and facilitate the effective dissemination of Chinese culture in Italy.
