Abstract: The industrial civilization and technological development have triggered an ecological crisis on a global scale. Under the increasingly severe crisis, scholars have proposed the concept of ecological narratology, which combines ecological criticism with narratology and plays a significant role in promoting ecological research in the field of literature. In this paper, by exploring the relationship between ecological crisis and ecological narration, and the development of ecological narration from the field of literature to the field of artistic, further elaborate the unique advantages of Chinese animated cartoon in terms of ecological narration, and analyze aesthetic connotation of ecological narration in Chinese animated cartoon, including how Chinese animated cartoon tells ecological stories and what aesthetic concepts and cultural ideals are embodied within it. By classifying and refining ecological narration, and interpreting and tracing aesthetic connotation, a systematic study on the ecological narration in Chinese animated cartoon is conducted, and its aesthetic value in the communication of ecological civilization is explored.
