Abstract: Morocco is an important tea market along the Belt and Road Initiative and had long been the largest market for China's tea exports. However, in recent years, the export of Chinese tea to the Moroccan market has fluctuated greatly. Based on the statistical analysis of the fluctuations in China's tea export volume and market share to Morocco from 2010 to 2023, the modified CMS model was used to empirically analyze the driving factors of the fluctuations in China's tea exports to Morocco from 2010 to 2022, revealing the core contradiction between the lagging export structure, the decline in competitiveness and the disconnection of market demand. It is also proposed that Chinese tea needs further innovation in order to explore local market demands, develop new products, improve the properties of existing products to increase usage and other measures to consolidate and enhance its market position.
