Impact of Strengthening the Rule of Law on Enterprises' Green Innovation -Evidence from the Experience of Establishing Environmental Courts in China

Abstract：The paperisbasedondatafrom ChineseA-share listedcompaniesin Shanghaiand Shenzhen from 2O04to 2022， andusesaprogressivediferenceindiffrencesmodeltoexaminetheimpactandmechanismofenvironmentalcourtsoncorporategreeninnovation.Theresearch findings indicatethat theestablishmentof environmentalcourtscansignificantlyimprove thelevelof green innovation inenterprises;Environmentalcourtscanpromotecorporategreeninovationthroughadualapproachof increasing external financingconstraintsandincreasing mediaatention;When listedcompaniesarelocated inareas withahighlevelofruleoflawandaretehnologyintensive，ighlydigitized，andnon-stateowedenterprises，thdivingrole of environmentalcourtsinpromotinggreeninnovationinenterprisesismoreprominent;Theenvironmentalbackgroundof executives，asanintealcontextualfactorofthenterprise，strengthnsthepromotingeffectofenvironmentalcourtsongreeninnovationintheenterprise.Theestablishmentofenvironmentalcourtshassignificantspilover efectsongreen innovationof enterprises inadjacentcities.Inthefuture，relevantdepartmentsshoulddeepenthespecializedreformofenvironmental justiceto empower greeninnovationinenterprises.Listedcompaniesshouldactivelyrespondtopolicies，payattention totheimportance ofenvironmental protection knowledge among executives，andachieve synchronous promotionofeconomic stabilityandecolog - ical governance.
