the footwork’s of the dance are sometimes moving, sometimes still, sometimes fast and sometimes slow in an orderly way with drumbeats. the dancers sometimes roll themselves on the ground with eyes looking all round as if they were trying to find some clues on the enemy’s side. the movements look like those of a rooster, careful and graceful, as if they were to launch a surprising attack on enemy camp. sometimes, they move like an eagle with spreading wings, rising high into the air with steps and body movement agile and vigorous, and then throwing themselves onto the floor. they demonstrate an imposing manner of smashing all enemy resistance like an awakened lion. sometimes, they press forward steadily in the battle array of two armies pitting against each other with the momentum of an avalanche. there is something unique about the liveliness and vigor of the dance.
